Trail Festival Weekend: Paths of History

Join Bladen County for their Annual Trail Festival Weekend. This year, we are focusing on the history and stories of the beautiful Bladen County landscape in celebration of America's 250th Anniversary. From a Revolutionary War Battle to naval stores and ingenious farming techniques, the story in Mother Nature's Playground is the story of growth in America. Hike a trail through a longleaf pine forest, paddle across a Carolina Bay, stroll the historic downtown of Elizabethtown, or explore our new Driving Tour of Historic Places.

The annual Trail Festival Weekend in Mother Nature’s Playground will take place from February 13-16, 2026.

As part of America’s 250th celebration, we will honor the great outdoors in Bladen County with a nod to our longleaf pines, naval stores, Carolina Bays, and rich agricultural heritage. Be a part of history as we announce the first-ever Historical Driving Tour of Bladen County!

Their goal is to bring people together to explore trails and relax in our naturally beautiful places here. Join us for guided hikes, fun family activities, local music and southern cuisine, and lots of chances to explore why we call this area – Mother Nature’s Playground.

Basecamp on Saturday is the Cape Fear Farmers Market. Trails take place though out Bladen County.

Location: 106 MLK Dr., Elizabethtown, NC 28337
